Health law
The Health Law specialization at the University of Paris-Saclay offers an M1 leading to several M2 courses, including a partnership with the Faculty of Pharmacy for shared master's degrees. From September 2026, the new M2 Digital Health Law will train lawyers with cross-disciplinary skills, combining digital law and health law.
The pedagogical organization of the Health Law specialization enables students to progressively specialize over the two years of their Master's degree. In M1, students acquire general skills in health law (Mastering the fundamentals of health law, Acquiring specialized skills, Knowledge of the health environment). In M2, students have the opportunity to acquire specialized skills (expert level). The Health Law specialization draws on both the teaching and scientific teams at Université Paris-Saclay and external partners, notably professionals, to meet complementary needs. Research professors from the Paris-Saclay area (Sceaux, Evry, UVSQ, Faculty of Pharmacy) are involved in the program.

Learning outcome targets
The Health Law specialization is designed to equip students with the methodological and disciplinary skills required for careers in the healthcare system and pharmaceutical industry, as well as in medical research, particularly in the field of biotechnology, its financing and the valorization of its results, or to train lawyers specialized in the responsibilities incurred by healthcare professionals and healthcare establishments. The program also trains lawyers who are open to digital health.
The scientific relevance of the program is based on comprehensive training in health law, the sources of which are multiple and difficult to master due to their evolving nature, as well as on a multidisciplinary approach. In terms of language skills, the healthcare sector is characterized by the need to master English. With this in mind, students in this specialization are required to take English courses over the two years of the Master's program.
The degrees in this specialization are defined in terms of objectives and competencies for both further study and professional integration, with ongoing work to ensure coherent articulation within the specialization, and without redundancy of courses offered by different training operators (faculties of the Université Paris-Saclay, component establishments, components of associate member universities). There is only one M1 operated by the UEVE (unduplicated M1). The other two M2 courses are run at Evry and Sceaux. From the start of the new academic year in September 2026, the “Droit de la santé numérique” course will be offered at UEVE.
The courses cover both solid disciplinary knowledge and skills, as well as cross-disciplinary skills (building a career path, knowledge of the business world, project management), which are developed in line with the core curriculum and throughout the course. Each course is built around blocks of knowledge and skills, and links up with the competencies listed in the RNCP sheet, so as to respond to a wide variety of aspirations, career paths, life plans and career development projects. Generally speaking, the training program is very clearly defined in terms of competencies, both from the student's and the employer's point of view.
Target audience
The Health Law specialization is designed for students who have completed a Bachelor of Law degree and wish to specialize in this field. It is also open to students who have obtained a double-degree degree (LDD) in law, science and innovation (DSI), economics or IT law from Paris Saclay.
